How renting works

From finding a scooter to handing it back, every step happens in the app.

  1. Find a ride

Browse scooters and motorcycles listed by owners on your island, each at the owner’s daily price.

  2. Book from your wallet

Top up your URent wallet by card with BML Connect. When you book, the rental moves from your wallet to the owner’s.

  3. The owner delivers

The owner brings the scooter to you. Pickup is optional if you would rather collect it.

  4. Ride, return with photos

Photos are taken at check-in and check-out, so the scooter’s condition is on record at both handovers.

Scooters and cars, on every inhabited island

Owners list cars beside scooters, self-drive or with a driver. The URent fee for a car is MVR 75 per car day, at least MVR 150 and at most MVR 1,500 per booking. No deposits.

  • Self-drive

Self-drive: aged 21 or over with a car licence held for at least 1 year, valid until you hand the car back.

  • With a driver

With a driver: any verified member aged 18 or over, no licence needed. The owner names the driver and sets a driver fee per day, for up to 10 driving hours a day.

  • On your island

A car stays on its island and the islands joined to it by road. No sea crossings.
